Program Overview

The program is conducted for a minimum duration of one semester (atleast) or up to a maximum of one academic year (2 semesters). It involves credit courses. Students can choose from a wide range of courses which are offered by 12 faculties in Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).  This program is offered to both undergraduate and postgraduate (coursework mode or research programme).It also offered online classes in a certain faculties.

Eligibitity

  1. Enrolled as an active student (Undergraduate/Postgraduate Coursework) in home university
  2. Have completed at least two (2) semester of study in home university
  3. Have good academic standing with CGPA not less than 2.75 or equivalent
  4. Have good English proficiency in speaking and writing
  5. Applicant has evidence of sufficient fund to support himself/herself while studying in UNIMAS
  6. Obtain support letter from student’s Academic Adviser supporting the application
  7. Applicant must be nominated by the partner university/institution through the International Office

APPLICANT'S ELIGIBILITY

Applicant must be a full-time student who has completed at least 2 semesters or one year of study at partner universities that have signed a Memorandom of Understanding (MoU) or Memorandom of Agreement (MoA) for student exchange programme with UNIMAS

If English language is not the medium of instruction in applicant’s university, applicant is required to fulfill the minimum language requirement as stated below:

• IELTS score of 5.0, TOEFL Ibt 42, Pearson Test of English 47, Cambridge Qualifications and Tests 154 or aligned and equivalent to CEFR High B1; or
• Provide evidence of English Proficiency
* Some requirements may vary based on faculty’s requirements, Programme Standard, or professional body requirements

Applicant has evidence of sufficient fund to support himself/herself while studying in UNIMAS

Obtain support letter from student’s Academic Adviser supporting the application

Applicant must be nominated by the partner university/institution through the International Office

Completed application along with all required supporting documents MUST be submitted to UNIMAS Global by mail, email or fax before the application deadline

APPLICATION PROCESS

  1. Applicant completes UNIMAS Inbound application form.
  2. Applicant submits completed application forms with required documents to mobility coordinator for nomination
  3. Mobility coordinator submits candidate’s application to UNIMAS Global office
  4. Partner university receives response from UNIMAS Global on application status
  5. Partner university receives offer letter for successful applicants from UNIMAS Global and an email on visa application and health insurance process from UNIMAS Business School (Note: UNIMAS Business School will facilitate the pre-departure arrangements including assistance for matters concerning visa application and health insurance)
  6. UNIMAS Global continues to assist partner university with follow-up action

REQUIREMENTS

What are the requirements for the application?
  • Inbound Mobility Application form
  • International: A photocopy of passport’s front page
  • Local: A photocopy of identity card (MyKad)
  • Latest academic transcript (complete)
  • Passport size photo (recent) – three (3) copies
  • One set of health examination report (download from website)
  • Evidence of financial ability
  • Reference / Recommendation letter from student’s Academic Adviser / Professor supporting the application
